Costa Rica - Volcan Azul - Caturra Natural
It's no secret, we love Alejo Castro's coffees. His flagship farm, Volcan Azul, has been a mainstay in the Josie Coffee lineup for years. In that time, we've featured all manner of varietals and processing methods.
This year, we chose a few of what we considered the very best lots from Alejo's huge offering list. We loved the natural processing on two of his Caturra coffees, one from Volcan Azul and the other from Hacienda La Union, one of Alejo's other properties.
The natural process helps deliver lots of fruit character and brings the signature body of Alejo's coffees into the cup. We've enjoyed this coffee as filter, espresso and with milk.
