Colombia - Daniel Hernandez - Tropical Chiroso - Washed
The first coffees we purchased from Forest Green were the revolutionary El Vergel - Koji process coffees. Since then, we've been looking for a way to get an ongoing supply of coffees from Forest and this year, they delivered just the thing.
Now with on the ground representation in Australia, local rep Samuel brought their best lots to the roastery for us to cup. This incredible Chiroso was our favourite by far, jumping off the table with it's signature profile.
Chiroso is an natural mutation of the ubiquitous Caturra varietal, originally cultivated by nearby farmer Jose Arcadio Caro. This varietal fits into producer Daniel Hernadez's vision for an exceptional quality farm, with it's great cup potential; complex acidity, ripe fruitiness and complexity to boot.
