Colombia - Wilmar Guarnizo - La Vega - Geisha - Washed Process
Wilmar's coffees are some of our favourite ever, and in a bizarre set of circumstances, this year's harvest falls into a green coffee price that is well into our regular coffee pricing. This presents a great opportunity to taste an "exotic" lineup coffee within our usual single origin offering.
Wilmar's geisha has always been the exact profile that we look for when purchasing Colombian lots, full of excellent fruitiness, balance and great cup structure. This year's crop is no different, and when we cupped the sample we jumped at the opportunity to buy it and purchased as much as we could.
This is the third harvest of Wilmar's geisha we've purchased, and our second time buying the Washed process, having also had the Honey in the past. It was my (Greg) personal favourite coffee from the Gateshead cellar menu and it's always a pleasure to drink this kind of coffee. I'm excited to be able to offer it as a part of our offering again.
