Tim Wendelboe - Kenya - Gachatha - Washed Process
When we first discussed offering coffee from established, quality international coffee roasteries; the first roaster mentioned was Tim Wendelboe. Tim's roasting style helped define the modern specialty movement and his commitment to green coffee quality and transparency continues to lead the industry decades after his rise to prominence.
We were planning on offering Tim's coffee as the first release from an overseas roastery through Josie coffee but we wanted to wait for his Kenyan coffee to arrive before we purchased. After some unfortunate delays we're happy to announce that it's here and every bit as good as we'd hoped.
Kenyan coffee is notoriously hard to roast and increasingly hard to find in excellent quality. Tim's reputation as a Kenyan coffee buyer does not disappoint here as this lot from Gachatha exhibits plenty of fruit forward aroma, great acidity and structure; the hallmarks of a great Kenyan coffee.
Here's a link to Tim's description for those who want to know more.
