The last in this years long line of lots we purchased from Testi Coffee is by no means the least. This coffee, from Gara Agena Station in Sidama, is one of their "Special Prep" lots. These coffees are separated on arrival at the mill, dependent on the exceptional quality of the coffee, and processed, dried and milled independently in order to maximise the potential of the cherry. We've had excellent success with these coffees and have enjoyed the way they present both the "classic" qualities of Ethiopian coffee and the modern fermentation artefacts alongside one another. Truly a testament to the recent advances in coffee fermentation and the work of the Testi mills to achieve this balance.
In the cup we find lots of the rich brown sugar we associate with high quality washed process coffees, a pleasant yellow stone fruit flavour and aroma that remind us of peach.

We think this information should be normal, not exceptional. Here’s what we know about this coffee.
Ethiopia
FOB is the price paid for the coffee before shipping, insurance and local costs.
Our landed cost is what the coffee cost us by the time it reached the roastery.
Neither number is the farmer’s final income, and landed cost is not our total cost to roast and sell the coffee, but it gives a clearer picture of the economic impact of our business.
