Our first even Mexican single origin.
Mexican coffees have taken big leaps forward in quality in the last few years. They've become a hot commodity for specialty roasters as the "up and coming" thing. Our scepticism says that's primarily because they've been cheaper than many other Central American coffees which tends to pique the interests of cynical coffee roasters. We've not been short of opportunities to buy them, but haven't found anything we love until now.
Named after the iconic local plant, Flor De Corazon represents the ethos of exporter/importer Caravela's methods. Working with a community of growers to produce great coffee that has a sense of place and character and builds security for the growing community.
This coffee shines on the cupping table, it's bright acidity, soft and pleasant fruitiness and bundles of delicious dessert like caramel and nuttiness meant we couldn't pass it up. Try it as filter and you won't be dissappointed.
