The Chelchele station will be well known to anyone who's been around coffee for a while. Coffee from this station is featured in roasteries offering lists the world over, and is seen as exemplary of coffee from the Yirgacheffe region.

This lot is a 'special prep' washed process. Which means, lots that present as higher quality when delivered to the station, are separated for processing. With the aim to achieve even better results in the cup. We've bought a bunch of special prep lots this year, we love the way that these lots emphasise the 'traditional' attributes of Ethiopian coffees. Presenting familiar profiles with everything more pronounced.

This lot's got great fruitiness and complexity. It's exactly what we expect from a washed process Yirgacheffe coffee, elegant and refined. It's got sweetness and complexity, the special prep process really adding to that in layers. A real winner.
