Rwanda - Nkira - Kirorero Station - Washed Process
We're happy to introduce another excellent coffee from the Kirorero Station in Rwanda. We've been incredibly pleased with the quality of coffee from COOPAC, sourced through Café Imports. Rwanda's reputation, for coffee production, isn't as esteemed as some of it's East-African counterparts and is often negatively compared to Kenya. However these coffees put-lie-to that, with great acidity, structure and fruitiness; they're every bit as good.
The Nkira lot stood out to us because of it's acidity. It's bright and interesting and gives the cup great balance. The stone fruit and cacao bitterness are offset by this acid, making for a complex coffee and another great example of the merits of washed processing for coffee quality.
